Lucas J. Thompson
Born and raised in Iowa and a graduate of Iowa State University, Luke got his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2005. Luke then moved to Minnesota and started his legal career clerking for Chief Justice Russell Anderson of the Minnesota Supreme Court and then spent 3 years in the General Litigation group at Minnesota's largest law firm, Faegre & Benson (now Faegre Drinker). Over the last decade, Luke has dedicated his practice to litigation, disputes, and business law, primarily for small businesses, their owners, and their employees.
Luke prides himself on giving clients smart, practical advice focused on the client's bottom line. Small business doesn't mean small legal problems, and Luke enjoys tackling thorny legal matters so his clients can rest easy and get on with business and with life. Typical litigation and dispute cases include business ownership disputes, contract litigation, and fraud. Outside the courtroom, Luke helps business owners and others with entity formation, a variety of contractual and employment issues, intellectual property, and other legal concerns.
Luke practices law in Edina and lives in Southwest Minneapolis. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons and is constantly trying to improve his tennis game.
